Steering Rack Repair Cost in Ireland
"How much does a steering rack cost?" is the right question to ask before you commit to a repair, and the honest answer is: it depends on your vehicle and on whether you go new or reconditioned. Here is what actually drives the price.
The cost of a steering rack depends mainly on your make and model, whether you buy a new OE rack or a reconditioned/remanufactured exchange unit, and whether it is a straight part supply or a repair of your own rack. A reconditioned exchange rack is typically a substantial saving on a new OE part, which is why it is the route most Irish drivers choose. For a firm figure, we price to your exact vehicle. We do not publish a single flat price, because a rack for a small hatchback and a rack for a commercial van are very different parts. What we can do is set out clearly what moves the price so you can judge a quote and avoid overpaying.

- Repair of your own rack. An option where an exchange unit is not available for your vehicle.
- New OE rack. The most expensive, and rarely necessary when a quality remanufactured unit is available.

We do not quote a flat price because it depends on your exact vehicle. Most parts are supplied on an exchange basis, where your old unit comes back to us, which keeps the cost down.
